Divorce is an emotional time that you have to try your best to prepare for. There are times when you might not be able to prepare for everything, but you need to try to keep your composure when this happens. It can be difficult to do this because of the emotional ties that you might have to some of the decisions that have to be made.

We understand that not knowing what is going to happen in the divorce is one of the most difficult things that you can deal with. Unfortunately, we can’t predict the outcome of every situation. Instead, we need to build up your case and help you ensure that your rights are being respected.

There are many different aspects of the divorce that you will need to handle. Some of the most pressing in the beginning don’t have much to do with the court process. Decisions about who will live where have to be made, as do decisions about who is going to do what with the children. We realize that this might come as a shock and could be difficult, but these have to be figured out as soon as possible.

As the court case moves forward, you and your ex will likely have to work together to make more decisions about property division and child custody. In some cases, negotiations aren’t going to be productive and you might have to bring the divorce to trial. This can take longer than mediation, so make sure you that you’ve given the negotiations a fair chance before you call it quits.
