Social media requires care if you are co-parenting

When you are co-parenting a child, you need to be careful of what you do on social media. This isn't because you need to worry about what your ex is going to see. If you and your ex are co-parenting, it is likely that the two of you get along but you should make sure that your decisions about every aspect of child custody fall in line with the custody agreement. This means that you might need to watch what you say on social media.

You need to be careful because of how various posts might be perceived. You don't want it to seem like you are bragging about your life at your child's expense. You wouldn't want other people who aren't co-parenting like you to think that you are downing them.

When you make posts on social media, take the time to think about how what you are saying might impact your children and your relationship with your ex. Even if you aren't friends with either of them now, there is a chance that what you say might get back to them.

Some people choose to use social media to admit the mistakes that they make. You must be careful with this, too. All parents make mistakes, but with how touchy some people seem to be these days, you don't want your mistakes to turn into a big deal.

It is always best to think about how the things you do might affect your children. This is true when you are posting about them on social media. Think about how they would react to some of the things that you post. If you think that they will be uncomfortable with a post, it might be best to avoid the post.
