You might have to agree to disagree on small child custody issues

Taking care of your children is one of the most important things you have to do as a parent. Just because you and your child's other parent aren't in a relationship any longer doesn't mean that you have to shirk on these duties. Your child custody order is one way that you have that might enable you to be as active as possible in your child's life.

We know that you might have some ideas that don't mesh with your ex's ideas regarding how to raise your children. This is a common point in cases that involve custody of children. Even though you and your ex might not agree on every point, it might still be possible to come to agreements that are necessary to establish a mutual child custody plan.

You should remember that as long as you and your ex can come to agreements about important facts like the visitation schedule and who is going to make major decisions for the child, it is often possible to agree to disagree on the smaller issues.

There isn't any reason to think that you and your ex would need the exact same rules of the house. Instead, as your children get older, they will begin to learn how to adjust to each home. This is a good skill for them to know when they transition into adulthood.

We understand that thinking about child custody matters is something that is difficult for many parents because you don't have full control over what happens. We can help you to learn about the options that you and your ex have to resolve the problems so that you can try to get the case finalized as soon as possible.
